The accused were arrested and confessed to the crime, stating they believed the sacrifice would please their god.In July 2024, a devastating stampede at a religious gathering in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, held in honor of preacher Bhole Baba, resulted in 121 fatalities, predominantly women and children. The Uttar Pradesh government suspended six officials for negligence following a Special Investigation Team's report, which also hinted at a possible larger conspiracy behind the incident.These incidents highlight the potential dangers of blind faith and the critical need for stringent oversight of large religious events to ensure public safety.
